UTi Integrated Logistics to layoff 76 employees in Lancaster

South Carolina-based UTi Integrated Logistics, a subsidiary of California-based global logistics company UTi Worldwide, will lay off 76 employees at its New Holland facility, according to a letter sent to the state Department of Labor and Industry.

The mass layoff will take effect March 31. The employees are not represented by a union, Diane Lowman, director of human resources, said in the letter to the state.

The facility is not being closed, but will be operated by an employer other than UTi, Lowman said. Company representatives at UTi Integrated Logistics and UTi Worldwide were not immediately available for comment.

Federal labor law requires companies to give notice to certain governmental entities of a facility shutdown or mass layoff.
