Tennessee Valley Authority to cut 61 police jobs

The Tennessee Valley Authority is cutting 61 uniformed police jobs and replacing them with contract workers at non-nuclear facilities.

According to the Huntsville Times, the utility said the move is part of an organizational realignment meant to cut costs and make it more competitive.

TVA said it will station contract guards at critical locations and increase the use of security technology at its non-nuclear power facilities.
