Electric car company Fisker Automotive to cut 26 jobs in Delaware

Federally backed Fisker Automotive, the electric car manufacturer with headquarters in California, said it will lay off 26 workers at its plant in Delaware.

The company agreed to loans from the Energy Department totaling $528 million, but Fisker was not able to hit targets with delivery and production.

The Energy Department released a statement saying "The department is working with Fisker to review a revised business plan and determine the best path forward so the company can meet its benchmarks, produce cars and employ workers here in America."
