Credit Suisse plans to layoff 109 employees in New York

Swiss bank Credit Suisse plans to lay off 109 employees in New York City, according to the New York State Department of Labor website.

The Zurich-based company cited economic reasons when it filed with the department on Monday.

The posts are scheduled to go between early March and May this year.

Victoria Harmon, a Credit Suisse spokeswoman, told Bloomberg that the figures were part of dismissals announced last year.

The bank said in November that it would be shedding 1,500 jobs in addition to the 2,000 cuts announced in July.

Credit Suisse has 50,700 employees worldwide, according to its website.
