Pitney Bowes to close call center in Chesapeake, 64 jobs lost


Pitney Bowes is closing a call center in Chesapeake, leading to the layoff of 64 workers.

A spokesman for the company told The Virginian-Pilot that the center will close in June.

The company says the layoffs will come in three waves, with the first starting in February.

The closure won't affect other local sales and service offices.

Mailing equipment maker Pitney Bowes Inc. is based in Stamford, Conn.
