Polish companies to layoff 52,400 employees

Polish companies plan to make redundant 52,400 employees as part of mass layoffs, the daily Parkiet writes citing the firm's declarations submitted to Polish regions' administration units in the nine months of the year until September.

The lay-off plans are higher year on year in 11 out of 16 provinces, the daily notes.

The plans likely result from fear about the weakening of the economic situation, labor market expert of the labor and social issues institute IPiSS Prof. Mieczyslaw Kabaj told Rzeczpospolita daily.
